The Mississauga Chargers are pleased to announce the following organizational changes effective August 1st 2024.
After the passing of our owner, Lloyd Stockley, in November 2023, his daughter Heather Stockley will carry on the torch , or perhaps it’s fitting to say he has “passed the puck” and she will lead the club as Owner/Governess.
General Manager Tony Clarke will assume a new role as Vice President. In his new role, Tony will liaise with ownership and team management as a consultant and advisor, lending his twenty plus years of expertise.
Joe Washkurak will remain as Head Coach and also assume the role as General Manager to facilitate more interaction with the players and families, optimize trades and work towards realizing the new vision of the organization, which is to grow, adapt and strengthen our way forward for the 2024/2025 season and beyond.
The Chargers welcome new Assistant Coach Alex Bezerra, who will work closely with coach Joe on new strategies for the upcoming season. Alex currently coaches the Mississauga Reps U18 program and has experience coaching in the OJHL, in addition to experience at the professional level in the ECHL. Adam Bendall remains a loyal part of the team as Equipment Manager.
Carol Stockley will continue to act as Treasurer/Assistant Director, working to handle administrative and financial operations.
Change management and development will be the priority for the Mississauga Chargers as we aim to enhance performance under the new leadership and management.
