Lloyd Stockley came to Ontario from the East Coast with little more than the cash in his pocket. As his businesses began growing, he turned his focus to the growth of hockey in the province. Lloyd was the owner of the Mississauga Jets for nearly 50 years, and the Mississauga Chargers for over 30. Throughout this time, he served many roles on multiple boards at the minor and junior levels. For his dedication, he was awarded the GTHL’s highest honour, the George Chamandy Memorial Trophy in 1987. He was inducted into the Mississauga Sports Hall of Fame in 2017, and in 2018 was presented the OHA’s Crystal Puck Award recognizing his outstanding achievements and contributions within the Ontario Hockey Association. Lloyd is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Heather and two grandchildren.
