The Mississauga Chargers are proud to congratulate five members of our organization who were selected in the 2026 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection Draft this weekend.
The selections are a reflection of the dedication, hard work, and commitment these athletes have shown throughout their development, and we are excited to see them continue their hockey journeys at the next level.
Leading the way was affiliate player Finn Merrill, who was selected in the 2nd Round, 32nd Overall, by the Niagara IceDogs. Merrill’s strong play, work ethic, and commitment to development earned him recognition as one of the top prospects in this year’s draft class.
The Chargers also saw Joseph Chiella, a member of our 2026/27 team, selected in the 4th Round, 74th Overall. Chiella’s steady presence on the blue line and continued growth have made him a key player within our program.
Forward Robbie Knight, another member of the 2026/27 Chargers roster, was chosen in the 7th Round, 128th Overall, by the Brampton Steelheads. Knight’s skill, competitiveness, and offensive abilities helped him earn his opportunity at the OHL level.
Affiliate player Josh Jodion was selected shortly after in the 7th Round, 133rd Overall, by the Soo Greyhounds. Jodion’s determination and development throughout the season were rewarded with his selection by one of the OHL’s most respected organizations.
Rounding out the Chargers’ draft class was affiliate player Tyler Miele, who was selected in the 14th Round, 265th Overall, by the Sarnia Sting. Miele’s dedication to improving his game and commitment to the sport have been evident throughout his time with the Chargers.
The Mississauga Chargers organization takes tremendous pride in providing an environment where players can develop both on and off the ice. Having five players selected in the OHL Priority Selection Draft is a testament to the hard work of our athletes, coaches, families, and staff who contribute to the success of our program.
We congratulate Finn, Joseph, Robbie, Josh, and Tyler on this outstanding achievement and look forward to following their continued growth and success as they begin the next chapter of their hockey careers.
